gearknob wobble

Hi all

To date i have had a mk1 and mk2 VTR and now wn a mk2 VTS...on every car the gearknob wobbles, never had any problem changing gear or anything like that but wondered if this is a common fault or design of the car or if anyone knows how to fix it

Gear linkage goes all the time iv been told but don't cost much to fix.:clapping:

theres a pin on the gearbox which gets play. Can be solved by drilling the hole bigger and using a thicker bolt instead of the pin i think.

Have a search, theres a guide on here to 'completely remove gearstick play'

9/10 thats what it is if the play is quite excessive
