After a thread on here earlier where the OP was a fellow rally enthusiast, I was wondering if there's anyone else on here that competes, and if so what sort of rallying?

As for me it's just stage rallying. Been doing it in a 205 for 8 years or so and now upgraded to the saxo a couple of weeks ago with our first outing this weekend :y:

Cheers, looking forward to the first run out even being in the co-drivers seat!

It's got the BE box in it with a 5.2 CWP and close ratio kit. Bit more info on it here:

Not done any hill climbs but look like a good crack. Did a sprint a few years ago in the pug but stick to the stages mostly :y:

Hill climbs are starting to sound quite popular on here :) You doing any championships in the rally car?

Good choice of box, i'll be alot more reliable than the MA in the woods. :)

I had a wee brush with a barrier at my last hillclimb... it was en route to a PB in the wet & a class win so i cant complain.

We only really do tarmac events but have heard the box will be more reliable.

Not too much damage there luckily, quick wash and a lick of paint will sort it :y: Good effort on the PB/class win though!

I'm service crew for a Saxo, and a few 205's.

Though the Saxo lives in East Sussex, the past few years it has only competed in Belgium, with good reason, its fucking ace! So much better than UK rallying, proper closed roads and more mileage than most, beer and chips also! Cheaper to enter too, and for Garry where he lives, cheaper and less time all in than going to yorkshire etc!

It needs a wash but i'll keep the stripe, it a adds character to the car. ;)

Are you dong any championship with your car?

but i dont think we'll be in a championship

As you know, the last outing for our saxo was in Belgium. Does look like a great time but I think if we decide to step up to that sort of rallying we'd go for IOM first as I live just down the road from Heysham port. Would love to take it out on some closed road stuff though!

Leave the scratches as well, even more character ;)

We do the ANWCC tarmac stage rally championship, have done for a few years now. Loads of good venues, mostly single venue and a top laugh!

Aye, they look like a great laugh for the money!

Bit further down south than us then. Should look at ANWCC championship, not that far up from Worcester and shed loads of events ;)

Unfortunately not, we've done it before but had to give it a miss this year due to other commitments. Great rally though!. Love the tight and twisty bits around the roundabouts and a surprising amount of traction there as well. Might give it a try next season though, the super special stage looks like a real good laugh!

Seen that happen a few times, the curbs are very unforgiving too, remember seeing one of the 6R4s go a bit too wide down the bottom end by the lifeguard hut thing and go side on into a curb and lost it's wheel completely :n:

Yeah they can be pretty harsh. Ripped a couple of wheels off on similar curbs at rallies, makes you feel sick, especially when you're doing well...

Doesn't get any better than rallying IMO, it's definitely pretty hairy when any speccies or marshals are a bit too close to the stage though...
