Hi just filled up on petrol and car ran for about 10 seconds and as soon as I have it some accelerator there was no power and it cut out. Tried starting it and no luck. Had to push it to get out the way of people. Let it cool down 10 mins tried to start it and same thing happens, before any one asks I defiantly put petrol in, not Disel, got receipt to prove it.

My initial thoughts it the fuel pump has gone? Any ideas? Thanks

And when I first started the car today there was a strange buzzing noise from the rear I assumed it was the sub/ amp but fuel pump is in the rear with the fuel tank I guess?

The red button is the fuel cut off switch, sometimes it can get knocked and you have to reset it by pushing the button.:clapping:

That's the problem, if you defiantly put petrol in a diesel then it WILL break down.

easy way to check...remove the fuel pipe at the fuel rail...put the end in a pop bottle or something and crank it over...if it starts to fill up you know its not the pump ;)

You said you defiantly put petrol in it though. That would imply the car is a diesel.

Why would that imply its diesel?

If you are defiantly putting petrol in then it means it shouldn't have petrol. Therefore logic would dictate it's a diesel.

I don't think you're getting this.

I don't think he's going to either. Defying the law of intelligence much?

What kind of logic is that? It's clearly dictating that the correct fuel was put into the engine.

There's your problem, you don't fill it up via the engine :P

Maybe, this is a big maybe I admit, but just maybe, there was somebody stood, holding the petrol nozzle, determined not to let him get his hands on it. Attempting to persuade the OP to use diesel instead.

He forcefully beat him to a pulp and prised the correct nozzle from the cold dead hands of his arch enemy. Thus, defiantly putting petrol in his petrol car?

Although it is a longshot, that is plausible!

Hahaha poor guy. All he wanted was some help, and in the heat of the moment, makes a couple little mistaches...

Indeed. Such a story would have appeared in general chat though. :n:

I thought it was deliberate irony in his post......?

I just typed, "definitely" into my iPhone and my iPhone was happy to display it as "definitely." I'm definite.

See how much of an "idevice" whore I am? I even typed it "iPhone." :homme:

If trying to point out errors in my last post was the intention of this then think about it a bit more first. iPhone is a name, idevice isn't.

My iPhone always spells definitely wrong for some reason.

Not at all. I was genuinely calling myself a sad twat for typing it "iPhone." :drink:

It's interesting that it consistently changes them to the wrong words.

I think your mind changes words too. How definite of it.

Didn't know they did 1.1 diesel engines in Saxos :clapping:

Yep, they actually made a few mk1 saxos which used 1.1 turbo diesel engines, before swapping to the 1.5 non turbo.
