I know there is a section, but im after a quick answer, for a quick fix..
Ever since i got a new router.. I turn my xbox on, go on fifa, (it happened with 12, thought it may be the disk, but is happening with 13 too) And i will go on online seasons, click to find opponent, and it will say disconnected from EA servers, then i go to the home screen, and i am disconnected from Xbox Live..
Once i connect and go into the game again, it plays fine, but its pissing me off now, having to load the game twice and such..
The xbox is connected with a network cable, so its nothing to do with wireless, although it is a wireless router, but my laptop runs fine with it..
The NAT type on the xbox is open, so its not like theres the firewall stopping it, otherwise it wouldnt work at all..
Any suggestions please?

I've noticed every 2 mins your on and off.... I know you say the NAT is showing as open, but have you tried going onto the router settings and making sure that the ethernet connection for the xbox is port forwarded? If all that is done, then try a different Ethernet cable mate.

How do i go about this port forwarding business? Tell me what kinda area on the router settings it will be, and how to do it :)

isnt this what was happening on battlefield when it was first released as the servers werent big enough to cope with the amount of people who want ed on it?

Should have a DMZ option on your router that will allow a single IP to be set. Set the IP of the xbox to the DMZ and it will allow all types of traffic in and out.
Should solve all your problems.
If you use DHCP though and haven't reserved an IP for your xbox, you need to do that. Fairly simple to do on most routers, should have a reserve IP option and all you need is the MAC address of your xbox. Can find it in the network settings on the xbox or it will be listed in the connected devices on your router.

Yeah thats true, I had to DMZ my mates Xbox; even with PF done, it kept showing up with NAT errors. As Penn says though, make sure you static IP the xbox and then do it as you dont want to DMZ the whole network lol.

I was wondering why you were on and off all night.
As said above, get your Xbox IP in the DMZ and there'll be no restriction at all on your Xboxs connection!

Is the Xbox's IP the one that it says on network settings on the xbox.. I went on configure network, and then it was the 1st one..

Somewhere in your network settings (on the pc) It'll list all active connections (Make sure the xbox is on) Ylu should be able to find the ip address there.

theres 4, and 3 are named, 1 is blank, guessing its that one, as it matches the IP my xbox has aswell..

When you log in click ob forwarding and then virtual server and add.
Open UDP port 88
.Service Port: 88
IP Address: the IP address of your Xbox.
Protocol: UDP
Status Enable
Then you want to add again
Open TCP/UDP port 3074
.Service*Port: 3074
IP Address: the IP address of your Xbox.
Protocol: ALL
Status: Enable
Save and resey your router.
Then check the Xbox section on here!

He's already tried port forwarding, didn't work.
Did setting the xbox as the DMZ server solve your issues?

How could he try port forwarding without knowing the IP address of the console? =/
If this doesn't work then the DMZ may be the only way.

The DMZ, i did the ports last night from the link blackie gave.. Still disconnects me now and then, but i can just click seasons and it logs back into EA servers, rather than having to go out of the game, and disconnect from xbox live then start again..

Think that's just case of EA's servers being completely cock, I don't know anybody who doesn't get some sort of issue with them on xbox or ps3!

Just seems funny it only started happening when i got a new router, but now iv done these things, it seems to be alot better..
Still alot of "opponent found.." 10 seconds later "connection to opponent was lost" but that used to happen on 11 and 12..

yup I get that a fair bit.
Also get stuck in the pregame bit with you and the keeper when playing seasons only way to get out of it is restart the game.
haven't had one crash in game yet though!

Well, all in all, it hasn't worked..
Still kicks me off EA servers then disconnects xbox live..
Deffo the right IP for the xbox, did the DMZ thing, and the port forwarding for fifa, and BF3, both do the same when trying to play online..
Any other ideas?

If you do DMZ you don't need to do port forwarding, is the xbox set up for static IP as if its set to DHCP you could end up with a new address on restart.
smiith
1st October 2012, 20:09
Static yeh, every time, it is 192.168.1.2, thats in network settings, then also shows up on the router settings..
Brettles1986

and you have set the DMZ server as that IP address?

Penn

Has to be ISP routing in that case or your router is doing something funky. Having the xbox as the DMZ literally means it has restrictions at all.
Try something else, you should have an option somewhere in your router to disable uPnP. Disable it completely without changing anything else and see if it helps.
I know it causes issues on some games/internet services on certain types of routers.

I'v just disabled it, il let you know if its done anything when i turn the xbox on later :)
