Got in my car the other day started it up as I would normally and put the clutch down to put it in gear and I thought I was getting attacked by baby chickens there is quite a loud chirping noise coming from my engine but only when the clutch is down? And it's not just a few chirps its flat out chicken farm chirping!
Does anyone have any idea what this noise could be??

That's what I thought but apparently that's more of a rattle :/

the bearing could be dried out, that would be more of a chirping rather than a rattle

Pretty sure to get the clutch bearing out you have to remove the gearbox and clutch..so you'd be better off replacing the whole clutch with a Valeo one whilst the box is off..
But you'd need copper grease or lithium grease, not wd40.

No if the bearing is fucked or dried out just replace it and stick a new clutch on whilst your at it. No point in fucking about taking the gearbox off to just lube up a fucked bearing.
