i started my car yesterday and had no power steering iv seen a few threads about if the heaters are not working too my heater seems fine and it havent long had new ignition as the old one collapsed will it be the pump thats gone iv seen people saying to hit it with a hammer too any help much appreciated

When mine died, I got a hammer and smashed the metal part of the pump underneath the car and it's been fine ever since. (front left side under bumper) give it a few hard hits and it should start making a noise kicking in again, if that doesn't work could be the relay or pump is totally dead.

Big thanks for that mate tried it this morning no luck so read up about that wire trick and also read up about giving the key a wiggle in the ignition and after hitting it a few times and giveing the key a wiggle its fixed it so cheers for that i now know its defo the ignition switch
