I bought a set of JBL coaxials, they soundgood atm but i want to amp them to the most out of them. Can someone recommend me an amp for about £60-80?
Cheers

oh well tbh. . i personally wouldn't bother spending £60 on an amp for them. Just get the cheapest one you can possibly find, even off ebay. Not going to boost these too much i can't imagine. Sorry mate

i've got a sony 250w amp. Really light and quite small. Used to power my first set of shitty components. But i don't have any leads for it thats all. It's in perfect condition not a scratch on it, its still in a box with bubble wrap so its ready to go. £15 posted if your interest :)

They are only 35w rms if you have a decent enough head unit it will power them enough as they are mostly 4x50w so no need for an amp
Ps Chris might have that amp off you is it a mono amp

Or would it be better to get a better set of co-axials to make the most of the headunit. The headunit is Kenwood KDC-W5544u which is 4x50w

Your headunit is actually around 4x15wrms. I don't think there's a headunit on the market offering 4x20wrms or more...
I wouldn't bother spending extra money on amping those coaxials, I'd rather by a half decent set of components for the budget and have a better dynamic range and better overall audio quality.
Also, "just get the cheapest one you can find" isn't very good advice really, is it?

Ok cheers buddy, i would get components but im not too confident in fitting tweeters. Is there a good set of coaxials for like 50-60?

You're not confident in fitting tweeters which only require 2 extra wires, but you're willing to wire an amp which requires 6 extra wires? :P
I've not looked at audio products in a while, or have heard any coaxials over the price range of £20, so I wouldn't like to suggest anything.
Components will always have the advantage over coaxials.
They're really not that hard to fit either:
wires from headunit to crossover
wires from crossover to tweeter
wires from crossover to woofer
repeat for other door
Tip: mounting tweeters in the mirror covers is the 'best' option, IMO. main reason being is that if you come to sell the car and want to keep the speakers, you can replace them with new untouched mirror covers for less then £5, as opposed to selling a car with holes all over the door card.

Its not the wiring its the mounting them some where, how easy is it?

Mirror covers as above. drill a hole in them, screw the cup to the mirror cover, put the tweeter in the cup.
Job done :)

Guy wanted an amp. No point spending loads of money on one. . so what i said is valid. Better than telling him not to bother with one at all.

lol. I would add some knowledge to my reply, but it's fairly clear you don't possess any on the subject as it is.

Indeed they are. I've installed a couple of sets of the previous model (JBL GTO506-C)
have a look on eGay to see if you can get them any cheaper, it's a while back but the 506-c or 504-c were going for £29.99

Not my ego in question. You were offering ill thought out advice in a tech section it appears you know little about.
But then again, the last time I called you out on something you failed at attempting a witty reply, much the same as is here ;)

I can't say dude. Never used / seen that model before.
the specs are similar to the 507-C's though, so I doubt they'll be too different
