Right my car has recently started to get a problem, where the handbrake warning light is staying in, ive checked the brake fluid thats fine, and also all the brakes are ok
The ABS light is on though but cant see that being the cause, could it be the handbrake switch???
Also would it be a MOT failure if the warning light for handbrake stays on?
Please help i need to put it through an MOT within the next 2 weeks

my mate had exactly the same problem on his vts, changed the switch but the light still stayed on and put it on a diagnostics to see if the abs sensors were up the shoot but everything was fine...
must of been something wrong with the wiring, think he ended up just removing the bulbs before the mot
interested in seeing whether yours is the same...
as for the mot i think it would fail

I've got the same fault. I bypassed the brake fluid resvoir and the handbrake switch and still have the brake warning lamp on. I'm sure it must be ABS related

If I could wish for one thing on an internet forum, it would be an idiot filter...
Let me think about this for a second. A warning light (a red one) is on warning you about something. Something is either fucked, or the sensor for that something is fucked, meaning you wont KNOW when it's REALLY fucked. And your solution is to remove the bulb.
Nice work Sherlock, nice work. :wall:

Get under the bonnet and test the resistance to your ABS sensors, find the faulty one, replace it, be slightly alarmed that the lights are still on, drive it for a bit and behold, they should go off!
