so basically i have a mk2 03 vtr, ive put a kam racing back box in and it sounded a little too quiet for me! so i decided to get a traight through centre section hoping for more rasp because i love that sound buit all it did was give it more tone through the rev range and no rasp :( i want it to sound a little like this Peugeot 106 1.1 with 4-2-1 manifold and 2" Pugsport - YouTube

is the best thing to do to get a 4-2-1 ss manifold? thus removing the cat, will this make it sound gash though?

Decat or aftermarket manifold should affect the noise a fair bit.

4/2/1 manifold makes it much louder as it removes the cat. saxsport is most raspy from my experience. that pug has a pugsport, very similar.
i would say get a toyosport 4/2/1 from ebay. imo the best 'all round' package 4/2/1 for a VTR phase 2. kam racing box isnt all that raspy though, sound best imo.

happy days! i once had a 1.1 saxo as my first car, standard everything apart from the back box, after failing emissions on 3 attempts they felt sorry for me and put it through on a new corsa

Yeah 4-2-1 manifold or 4-1 changes the exhaust note and tone quite a lot on a VTR. Standard manifold and CAT are quite restrictive.

Supersprint do both a straight through centre section and one with a silencer so depends which you'd prefer

If everyones posting vids this is mine. Not the usual supersprint kit but a 4-2-1, decat, supersprint race centre and scorpion backbox. I've put a cat in it now though and a different manifold so its a big quieter

haha yeah it stuck out a bit far, after putting a cat in and different manifold its further in now. Must have been some weird combination of the manifold and decat, I believe most of it came from a 106 rallye at some point but I've not idea what brand the decat and manifold were before I swapped.

I have a straight through center section, so when I change my manifold I may have to put a silenced centre section if its rediculous lol!

Sound great mate! As prickle said it had some poke lol! Gues it will just be. A case of playing around with different things to get right notes, my mate is selling a super sprint manifold! Are they any good? Do you have to relocate anything?

I don't hve carbon letters on my plates?! Lol, do you mean on the 106? That was just a random car of YouTube to show how I like the sound lol, I think I will invest in a 421 manifold possibly super sprint and see how she sounds :)

If you have a mk2 saxo you will have to relocate the oil filter

If you have a mk2 saxo you will have to relocate the oil filter

How do you go about doing this?

saxo_beno
13th October 2012, 10:28
Basically you remove everything to do with the remote filter mate. Then once you have the bare block you will have a big hole and in the centre you screw in the threaded tube (use thread lock).

Then you will have a small 10mm hole to the right hand side. This needs to be tapped out using a m10 tap then blanked off using a m10 bolt that you can cut off or you can buy the correct citroen bolt from me for a fiver posted.
