A few questions concerning changing a mk1 in2 a mk2
1. Are there any physical differences between mk1 and mk2 VTS engines (shape size, mounts etc)
2. I gather the engine bay arrangements are reasonably similar so how hard do you think it would be to take the mk1 panels/bonnet/front bumper/grill off and replace with mk2 parts?
A mate of mine is thinking about this since i now have the spare bodywork from my VTS, hes quite mechanical (no hes not a machine) u think its do-able/worthwhile or have any advice?
Cheers

shouldnt need to change the boot just the rear lights if your keeping them standard
as for the front as far as i know all you need are the wings lights bonnet and possibly the front bumper and they should go on no problem (i'm sure someone will correct me if i'm wrong though)

The engines are the same size no need for different mounts or anything like that.
In regards to the panels it can be done and I think its quite a simple task for someone in the know but it all seems abit pointless to be honest.
I'm pretty sure you'd only need to weld the slam panel as all the rest should just screw on.

Sounds pretty positive so far, i dont think he will bother with the rear lights, he just likes the look of the mk2 front and since iv got one goin to waste he asked if it could be done.

Mk1 slam pannel is straight.
Mk2 is curvy

yeh i thought the mk1 was a straight one, do the slam panels unbolt then? Couldnt u just unbolt it n put a couple holes in the mk1 so it bolts on cleanly?
