Hey all, I've recently purchased a omp half cage in red! Problem is I'm not sure the colour will suit my car as it blue and black with a little orange! Anyone suggest what colour I should do the cage??? Cheers jay

I would have it powdercoated for a tougher finish mate.

If you get them both done at the same time, you may get it cheaper, happy days haha!

you choose
just go with something subtle

mind its your car so its up to you but my opinion is that colours are overdone

function over form tbh

ive always thought, if you had a cage wouldnt you want to show it off a bit rather than have it black so nobody can see it

Just out of interest what is the point of these half cages? Is it purely cosmetic?

How about a dark grey?..

What colour wheels are you on at the minute, can't keep up with you! :)

Fair play. Just got me to thinking if there are any real strength/protection advantages from them or if they're just for looks. Never really had a look at one but they seem relatively popular.

Oh, and I quite like the orange :)

No point in show cages at all. If you roll the car with one fitted chances are it will do more damage to you than if you didn't have one.

That's what I was thinking. If they're not properly fitted in (not actually seen the fitments on them) and you have an accident they seem quite likely to smack you in the head and do quite a bit of damage...

if you want to enter sprinting and hillclimbing in some classes a cage is required, and a rear hoop is sufficient but id still reccomend a full one unless you just want added roll over pretection and good looks

edit: showcages are purley for looks as other than that they only have bad points haha

as for the op orange will look cool. but for me in a light car use black, and in a dark car use white but i like it to stand out but not be in your face :y:

Just a min are we talking about a show cage or a half cage here.

Edit: sorry jay I just read its a omp half cage. Sort it out in some nice satin black coloured cages look shite.

why would you want to show off that your cars got a cage?
its a safety feature not a body kit.....

they offer some roll safety but id rather a fill cage than a windscreen in the face lol

keep it black, unless you are spraying the whole of the inside of the car in the certain colour

jayline

The inside of my car has been sprayed matte black, the only reason I want a colour change is the current colour (red) will not suit the cars colour theme! Cheers for all the replys so now it's a choice of black and orange???

But the OP's cage is an Omp half, not a show ;)

Id go for matte black or dark grey and a couple of orange stickers (NOT OVER DONE) but thats just me :)
