My 1998 Saxo cuts out or dosnt start unless the accelerator is pressed in. Any ideas why and Any ideas on how to fix it?

Is it only from cold? and does it die as soon as you take your foot of the accelerator? If so i would say replace your Engine coolant temp sensor.

As above or the automatic choke is sticking mate.

have you cleaned idle control valve and forgot to connect the sensor back up to it? cause i did this then realised I hadn't connected it and it would cut out as soon as I let go of the accelerator

Think this needs changing on mine, takes a few pumps of the accelerator pedal when cold, where is the coolant temp sensor located ? pictures if you have some, would be very grateful
