Just a quick question (not so quick) :bored:, ive bought a 2002 Saxo VTR 72000 miles about 4 months ago my MOT isnt due to June 2013 but i put it in the garage for a mock MOT to make sure there wasnt anything serious wrong with it,Came back that the rear suspension bearing were excessivley worn and that i needed it sorting ASAP and have noticed a slight knocking coming from the rear you wouldnt notice any other issues when driving,i have been told that the best thing to do is to buy i whole new rear axle which ive been priced at £275 + Fitting by my local garage which could be up to £200 labour. Im not an expert on cars to be honest as this is my first car would this be the only solution to buy a whole new axle? any help would be greatful :)

you could replace the bearings but it may not always sort the issue out like, or you could buy a 2nd hand axle from the scrappys but you'll have no guarantee if its in spot on condition and could be just like the first one !

I hope you went to IM Axles - 5% discount referred from Saxp, 10% discount if you were a premium member here.
That would be a £10 premium membership to save £39 on a refurb'd rear beam :) £29 overall saving, AND premium membership here. Sorted.
