In the process of fitting my sub, my mate who has fitted a couple before said there is usually a hole to put the power cable through to get it into the engine enclosure/battery... Where is the hole? (No innuendo haha)

Drill a new one and put a grommet in it. Then you're not risking cables rubbing together etc.

there is a grommit bt its a HUGE ballache to get 2 lol. i swear theres a guide on it on the FAQ sticky in this subforum. basically if its a mk2 vtr take the airbox out and then get upside down in the passenger footwell and look up... should see a small gromit at the top right of the footwell. problem is its usually stiff as hell and dont lead straight to the engine bay.
the way i did it was use a knife 2 kinda enlarge the hole on the gromit and then duct tape the cable 2 a coat hanger and push it thru b4 grabbing it with pliers on the other side and pulling it through.
took me over an hour tho with my m8 helping to get it thru :/

under passenger side dash, look up , you will see the wiring loom going through the grommet.
next to the loom there is space to cut a hole (i cut an "X" with a stanley blade), feed power cable through and it comes out behind the brake master cylinder.
failing the above, do what ross said :)

As said, behind the glove box an oval grommet with wires through top half, poke a hole in bottom part and push through. Easy

Yeh do as said above, it's really not that difficult, don't see why you would have to drill a new hole

just attack the ring side of the wire onto a coat hanger ( just the a straight bit of it ) with a hook on the end and feed it through the grommet takes 2 minutes..

you dont even need to use a hook or coat hanger, cut a big enough hole and just push the cable through :)

As said, slit the bottom part of the grommet, if the cable wont go then the slit isn't big enough or you're being gay. Had 0 gauge through mine piece of piss.
