Hi everyone, as title says really.
just seen these on Ebay and am unsure if they will fit my car.
Alloys; http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/8-x-15-Alloy-Wheels-Grp4-Mk2-Escort-Rally-minilite-Type-/120663642306?pt=UK_CarParts_Acc_Wheels_tyres_Trims _Car_Rims_ET&hash=item1c181d10c2

Note: I have a standard Mk2 5door atm, with standard 165/65 R14s

If anyone could give me a little insight, Thanks.

At 8x15 with ET-12mm will stick out a fair bit. Also it says 'Ford Fitment' which will most likely mean that the centre bore will be too small for it to sit on the hub on the car so which need;
a)Machining down
or
b)Spacers that reduce the centre bore down to Ford size 63.3

i thought ford fitment fits saxo hub, but usually needed 20mm spacers to fit?

Not sure if mine are ford fitment but they fit perfectly on the hub without spigot rings, look good but dont get them in 15's. Cuz as far as i know my saxo is the only one with these wheels on here!

Alright cheers, I'm new to this sort of thing and was looking for a rough idea..

So the fact they are 15s, they wouldn't be a problem to fit? Bare in mind my Saxo is the standard height on 14s atm

you'll also need to convert to the ford grp 4 wheel studs as these wont even go streight on to a 4x108 ford without the grp4 spec wheel studs

:EDIT: it even says in the ad "Please note that these are Group4 Fitting, will need group 4 studs, please contact us if you are unsure."

Depends on the tyres you put on them tbh, if you want stretch or not.

I have stretch on mine and lowered 75mm+

So if I were to find a set that are for Saxos and are either 14s or 15s.. then I'm fine really? just unsure of the size up

Just had another look at them, and AzzAW93 your right lol they look almost identical though haha my bad.

and to the op you wont have any problem with them fitting in the arches :)

yes if you find a set then you an get them to fit 8j on a 106/saxo is nothing new you just have to get the combination of correct spacers and tyre size to make sure they dont rub :)

heres a group 4 conversion stud, which wont fit a saxo hub anyway as the threads are different :)

Yeah I was thinking about 45mm drop with 14s maybe 15s on and 30mm spacers>? sound about right?

Rear might be tricky on a 5dr flat arch!

i was jsut gonna say youve got to remember your not fitting these to a vt model with bigger arches like yours

at standard height he should be fine but would look stupid having wide wheels with laods of poke at std height and then when its lowered he would have a world of problems id imagine, my old housemate tom5190 had to fit skinny tires to tiny vtr alloys to fit his lowered flatty

Ok thanks for your replies people, made me see the light alot more.... any suggestions then?

As said I have a 5door flatty, and i wouldnt mind dropping the height by 40/45mm and having those or BBS alloys on.

Any guidnence here? AND. I am new to this, hence why you think it may be a little stupid looking but I am here for help more than anything.

Thanks :)

Not hijacking this thread, but... What are stretched tyres for? Aren't they usually on deep dish alloys? And what's the benefits? They look better?

with what drop do you recon? bare in mind I have speed bumps on some travels.

would 40mm be too low? I just want my arches to sit just a tad above the wheels (so hardly any gap)

stretched tires have nothing to do with deep dish alloys, they are fitted to wide alloys so the tire wall is at more of an angle so you can go lower when the wheels stick past the arch also it can keep you legal as the tread of the tire has to be under the arch

but yes wide alloys are usually associated with deep dish alloys but the dish is irrelevent

centre bore is too small on those, they're designed for a RWD escort hence the low offset, anything fwd would have been +38 odd.

Ok thanks mate, much appreciated.
So if i were to get the correct alloys with the right fitments, will I be able to fit either 14s or 15s with a 40/45mm drop without catching the arches or modifying the arches in anyway?

Thanks.

if you get the right ones you could drop it to the bumpstops if you wished to be so retarded :D

if you gonna do that on a flat arch 8j will stick out loads

6j will need 45 profiles plus a bit of arch rolling

those wheels will fit! PCD is the same as ford n saxo 4x108

but off set is different you will need 25mm spacers with 65.1 center bore n poss spigot rings not too much cost involved

Ok, so I realise some may be getting a little frustrated with my 'simple' questions but as explained, I'm new to this sort of thing.

Just out of curiosity would these fit;
http://www.alloywheels.com/7x15_Inch_Dare_DR-RS_Silver_Gold_Rivets_Alloy_Wheels_Only

They come with 195/45 tyres but are on 15s, would these fit straight on without hassle?

Thanks Alot :)

Should do, I was intrigued about a set of these but they weigh an absolute ton.

out of interest, I saw some alloys that are off a Renault; 195/65 14s .. would these fit straight on without hassle?
mine are 165/65/ 14s.

And if not, whats the difference if someone could shed some light :)

Thanks.
