Hi guys,

In a bit of a state as i cant work out what to do so decided to get some outside opinions :D

I was looking at getting a 205 gti for my next car next year but have decided to get a VTR instead as i adore my Desire and want a quicker saxo :P

But here is my problem, do i keep my desire completely standard and just savesavesave for the vtr, or do i spend all the money on making this look respectable for a year, and then hope i get the money back upon selling it :S

I have so many ideas but do i put them on this, or buy a near standard vtr and go wild with that :D

Help :(

You will never make money back when you sell it. Save and buy a VTS.

The 205 is a serious choice as there is a couple of decent ones near me and theyve always been a dream car!!

If you really love it, then why would get rid of it? I wouldn't spend a chunk of money that I won't ever see again on something you'll enjoy for a year personally.

Straight 205's are fetching decent money these days as well - if you're serious about getting one then I'd start saving and leave the current car as it is.

My suggestion was based on the fact he was getting an R, I would never recommend a saxo over a 205 GTI.

Has to be the 1.9 tho

if you do get another saxo, theres no harm in swapping over the mods to the new car

i would just buy the mods when you get the new car though and not waste your time with a flat arch. You wont be getting it much better looking

The 205 would obvs be a 1.9 :P is there much of a difference between the R and the S??

a vts is a fair bit faster, is more expensive to run and more expensive to tax/insure

Yeeah i know its more in price wise, i just wondered if i would be better keeping the desire for 1 year and go up to a gti/vtr or just keep the desire and go up to a vts after 2 years :S

VTR's are quicker than 1.1s, but not that quick tbh, 1st and 2nd is "nippy" then it's shit lol
