Hello all, new to the forum, I'll put a post up in the Newbie section with a little about me this evening.

I'm going to look at an 1.5 diesel AX tonight, it's dirt cheap and solid too, for a change!
My mate has a VTS lump sitting around that I'm going to have off him, only wants £30 but I'll do the headgasket just for a piece of mind.

Is it much hassle to fit the VTS engine in one? I've seen it done before and they look like they'd be great fun, what's needed? I.E loom, ecu etc etc.

Thanks

Ben.

Oh, I know this is a Saxo forum, I'm looking for a mk1 VTR as a daily too :)

I'm guessing it may be more of a blag since its diesel to petrol.

All the info youd need, plus more, on the AX Owners Club (www.axoc.co.uk). Its a tenner for lifetime membership!

Not that much hassle to fit one, but youve a bit more work in store because its a diesel.

Yeah, they are a lot of fun, I own two :)

Won't you have to swap the fuel tank and lines since they will be contaminated with diesel

The fuel tank is different on a diesel, so filled or not you wont be able to get a petrol fuel pump in it without a massive arseache.

Cheers for the link Gabba.

I figured the tank, pump and lines would need swapping for petrol ones. I imagine a pattern tank can be bought?

possibly, but for all someone will charge at a scrappy for a genuine tank, I wouldnt bother! Plus if you put a post in the wanted section on the AXOC forum, youll probably find someone with one lying around.
