Anyone going to a display of some sort this year ?

Ever since about 2001 i've been to every single fireworks display at Alton Towers , apart from the period where that local family won a court order to stop them having the display.

They are pretty good to be fair. Also the fact you can go on Nemesis in the dark in the pissing down rain (it adds a whole new element lol).

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LLixrJE6fQ8 forward to 15.10, bitta pendulum. I always go on the Friday, the park is empty almost, untill the fireworks then it fills up. Always a good day.

How busy does it usually get?

Been a few times to alton towers, mostly when I was younger, the last time I went was a couple years back on a random Tuesday with a couple of mates and it was amazing, literally no more than 2 minutes for every ride apart from the newish (the surprise one, don't want to ruin it for others and cant remember what its called) ride which was only about 15 minutes anyway.

Tempted to go again and this would be an ideal time to go unless its packed?

Mate, If you go on Friday 2nd November, as me n the misses have, its brilliant because its empty in the day. To the point where you get on the rides so much a food break and chillout is welcome lol.

The way it works is, Alton Towers sell tickets exclusively for the fireworks show to get the numbers. So you end up with people with all day tickets, like myself and then the guys who have bought an evening ticket.

Its usually rammed to fuck when the fireworks are on but thats good cause it adds to a great atmosphere. When they are finished, by then, you've been on all the rides 5 times, had a few go's in the dark, had plenty of grub, have had a class day and just want to go home.

On the Friday by any chance ? I was there on the Friday and it was fine all day ( sun even came out for an hour ) until 5 ish and it was so wet the stopped Nemesis for 10 mins.

Me and the misses managed to get a last wet ride (on nemesis i mean ;) ) before they shut it down. It was fuckin class. It feels like its going about 10 times faster it really does.

If you go at the back on Nemesis in the dark / rain, you'll know what i'm talking about.

They re opened them again though, as soon as the weather calms down.

Not that expensive really mate.

Me and the gf went with the sun free vouchers and we only spend £30 for the day.

Does any one know if the 2 for 1 tickets can be used on the saturday?

Some 2 for one vouchers can sometimes be void or exempt during scarefest. which is gay.

But this is a busy time of year at the park. it's busy. half term and that jazz.

If you go in a weekday when theres no kiddies, just grown ups and chavs having fun. waaaay shorter ques.

I havent seen many chavs.... and from what i have saw, they are quite posh compared to the chavs in Birmingham.

At least in Staffordshire they wear chavvy, "clean" clothes, Not dog bitten, sweaty cannabis smelling old rags, lol !

I love things synchronized with music. This looks awesome

I hope chemists can formulate a firework to become a dragon, like from LOTR, now that would be AWESOME

yeah you get priority to wonder about. As far as I'm aware rides dont open till 10 ish still..... it's still good to get 1st in line. Although on Friday you dont need to as max queue time is about 10 mins throughout the day.
