Is it possible to get my Active Fly trap car sub working as part of a mobile DJ system.
I've got two PA speakers ( active ) and a mixer with a special "sub out", output.
For now, i was thinking just until i invest in some active sub woofers, add the car sub.... just to see how it sounds. Its a 12 inch and i would just sit it on the floor behind my DJ curtain. Discreetly adding some low end punch to my setup.
Can it be done without stripping wires or setting a small fire ?

My mate managed to run some front door speakers from a 240v house socket so it's definitely possible, not too sure exactly what he used, but you would have to run some sort of transformer to transform the voltage from 240v to 12v though

Used to use mine for my decks back in the day, obvs will need to be amped, but yeah, used to use it as a stool/speaker
Long as you have some other decent speakers to balance out the sound it will work fine, just check the wattage/amps to make sure your not gonna borst it though lol

I'm running a jbl sub in my surround sound with the correct size box. Works fine for it and gives a really nice sound.

I have pa speakers 300 watt rms so the 12 inch Sub would add that extra low end punch.
Its active so already amped. just need to power it really. It's standard phono for signal.

I used a old computer power supply unit to power a car amp / sub for years haha.
There's a youtube video of how to do it :y:

For the subs I've always ran them off home audio amps
