If you bought 16's with 40 profile tyres (not cheap) and went down forty you would have to remove the arch liners so you dont get rubbing on the full lock, but that should be the lot mate.

16's and down 40 will you will not have to do any arch work. there will be a tiny bit of rubbing but its nowt. here is what i get. front wheels only at the front of the wheel none at the back.

drivers side
1300

passanger side
1301

hope this helps. as you can see its nowt. i have had mine on for a year and there is no damge to the tires what so ever.

Yea shite sorry mate ignore what i said, as VT arches are different to base models. You will have to ask someone who has done such work an a base model. My bad :P

nope 16's on a flat arch isnt a great idea it will rub like a bitch. id say 40mm on 15's is the max without arch work on a flat arched model.

I've seen some nicely done non-VT Saxo's on 15"s, I think as long as the wheel looks rite on the car with a nice drop 15"s look really nice plus if you look around there are some really good deals about on 15"s.

I used to have a 2.0ltr 16v Cougar that come as standard on 16"s, people always thought they looked like 15"s plus the tyres were WELL expensive!

In some cases 16" tyres can be more than 17"s cos there is more people running 17"s than 16" and and modder will tell you . . . If its rare, its Expensive.

I don't know what kind of body mod's you've done to you base model Saxo but take alook at this site

www.tuning.co.uk

I've used them before, but they've got a clearance section with a few Saxo bits it with big savings, there's a nice front spoiler for the base model with a really good price why not have a look.
