Just a quick question is the bearing inside the carrier or on the driveshaft. As I'm just trying to pin point a noise I'm getting.

It's part of the driveshaft, the bearing sits inside the housing

Thanks how do u no if the bearing as gone. I'm trying source where this noise is coming from. My brother had a look at weekend and when he wiggled the shaft forward n back there was a bit of play. Could this be the carrier bearings or does it sound like my gearbox is on its way out maybe the diff he said.

Unsure he holded the shaft at the end and turn it forward n back. He said it felt loose and just said there was play in it. You could also here a rattle noise. The shaft was out of the hub.

It'll more than likely be a bit of play in the diff, each time you go forward to back it makes a little noise? Mine does this, what noise problems are you having?
