Hi.

I have problem while putting second gear. It can be putted always, but there is sometimes weird sound and I feel resistance while putting it. I noticed, that sometimes when i push clutch pedal harder, there is no problem with second gear. Gearbox oil? Clutch need some regulations? Any ideas?

Synchro on 2nd may be shot. Where is the bite point on the clutch?

Bite point is ok, clutch is not slipping. Maybe clutch need some regulation?

Nope it's definitely the gearbox.
My old 1.0 that I sold to my brother has done 105k on it's original clutch and 2,000 miles ago 2nd gear started grinding and after a month stopped working altogether, I sourced a cheap low mileage box for £50 swapped it over didn't even change the clutch as it still feels fine (even after 105k) and it's perfect, box was definitely the issue.

Don't be scared to change a box on one of these they are easy to do and boxes are cheap to come by.

Reasonably easy to do, but ideally you want an extra pair of hands to help! Wouldn't recommend changing one in the extreme cold mind, that is no fun

Clucth can just go at any min so saying its feels fine is no measure clutch plate for that must be £20-£30 :homme:

I'm not scared of changing gearbox, I'm car mechanic. I just wanted to ask, maybe that issue is typical for Saxo's. I just bought this car and don't know anything about bad points of it. Today I noticed, that 2nd gear works fine, after driving about 10-15km, so when oil gets warm. I'll try changing oil first. What type you recommend? Autodata says 75w90, but I can't find it in any Dublin shop.
