Let me guess? The fronts about 60mm and it looks like a speed boat? Lol.

Trust me, raise it... It'll handle a lot better :y:

LSOfreak
29th October 2012, 23:57
probably 60mm on the front and about 90-100mm on the back

its resting on the bumpstops at about 80mm so they'll either be chopped down or just removed altogether!

It wouldn't really though... It'll handle like a bag of shite. I've been there, done that. Raised it and realised the car actually handled higher lol.

It's alright i guess for looks, if the front matches but for driving it's shocking!

No, it's "stupid" because you've taken a car renown for being one of the best hot hatches of all time (for handling) and ruined its "best" feature. Akin to taking an awesome aquarium, but removing all the fish.

I wouldn't say it's that stupid having it that low if that's your choice whatever but I would say it's stupid buying it that low.

So, it wasn't your choice to buy it then?

Loads of Saxos available for that kinda money. You are gonna have to spend money getting that to handle properly.

The OP is going to raise it. He is also going to sort out those rear lights.

Mandatory adjustments you see. Good lad.

It's true, it's widely regarded that 106/Saxo's are one of the best hot hatches when it comes to handling. Up there with the 205 etc. Yes it may not be an Elise but they are very good for what was essentially designed as a cheap run around for mum's. Hence why they made the boot floor flat (to fit shopping in) and fitted torsion bars, which out of pure luck (or a bit more) made it a good handling little car, being very light and a 'when-you-want-it' lift off over steer character.
Disadvantage of a flat boot is it does tend to rot. Anyway that my lesson over.

Yeah they but rusted sheds! And with about 120k on clocks. I use it to drive as everyday car not on a race track, long as am not throwing it about won't need to worry about the handling.

Reknowned for is a strong way to put it I'd say, and your own definition of "one of" also plays a big part.

a car renown for being one of the best hot hatches of all time (for handling)

highlighted there a key part of that sentence. And yes, I stand by that statement. the 106/saxo is known (and reviewed as) one of the best handling hot hatches of all time. As said above - up there with the early golf gti's and the 205.

if the bumpstops are still there, it will just get to a certain height and then bottom out so it cant go no more. My guess is, that its at the bumpstop already, so in theory you could pile 6 men in the back and it'll probably stay that same height lol

I think it looks good, IF the front was matching :)

Fuck handling, if its a town car which wont ever see the track or windy back roads

As you'll notice while you were replying, I acknowledged that- but thanks for the Bold text :).

How widely known, and what constitutes "one of" is obviously something we see differently.

It goes a wee bit lower when it's a full car not much thought ha. Yreah it's more of a town car the odd time go out country to mates house or that but still not to bad :), I think it sits kinda level ha
