Hi guys on my car a 96 fiesta I've only just started to notice but the interior light does not come on when you open the drivers door but does for the passenger an rear doors trivial thing but it bugs me also if I leave the headlights on and open the door it doesn't beep like all the other cars I've been in do so I don't know if its a fault with a sensor somewhere but if I open the door the dash tells me there's a door open an it goes off when I shut it

Confusing me a lot atm anybody got any ideas ?

Cheers

Its either a corroded connection on the A pillar switch,or the switch has broken. An outside chance too that the wires have come off the back of the switch.

There is no beep, it's not that posh.

If you look down by the door hinge you'll see a little black thing that you can poke inwards. This is the door light switch. Remove it and clean up the metal contact of the switch. This should sort it (did for me).

I had the same problem in my old fiesta, i knew what the problem was but i couldn't be arsed to actually fix it cause it never bothered me.
But in my case, it was down to the door sensor, The little thing that pushes in when you close the door. its a common thing on these, along with many, many other faults lol.
