It's very dubsteppish on the sides, hopefully I think some of you might like it. And if you don't (music tastes and all that) happy Halloween to you anyway... Have fun and stay safe tonight.

If he did people would just rip into him lol... as they oft to with me.

I make a variety of things but dubstep on here, often gets slagged to the ground...... by people who don't produce at all.

+1 this. i understand it takes time and effort to make something, then for some one to slag it down with out exactly giving constructive criticism, annoys the hell out of me.

Not really relevant though is it?

They still listen to music and if the consumer doesn't like it, unless you're doing it as a hobby, then there's no point in making it really.

I'm not even into dubstep in the first place, I chose tracks that used lots of old school keyboard sounds that were commonplace in the old 80s horror films... I do allsorts though, it's available on my website. There's some progressive, techno, trance, fusion, electro, pop, dance and my own take on NIN's "The Slip" which is a combination of allsorts of fusion rock/metal, for which I also needed two session drum players on top of my own drumming, keyboards, samples and arrangements.

Neither, it's a flat european U. This is the phonetic if that helps: many/

People over here tend to say man you as in manchester united. All my mates have the English accent kicking in and pronounce it manoo, I have yet to come across someone who is able to say it flat.

I got a lot of that over here from the usual suspects. Goes over the top of my head, hence why I didn't bother at all except for this little halloween bit. I could have shared it in here 3 weeks ago but didn't want to create another thread that would turn into another shitstorm + lock/delete like most of the usual "banter" threads.

Who cares what people off the net say anyway . . .

Pretty much. Thanks you all for not creating the usual bandwagon (as in haven't got a clue but still have an opinion), that's a nice change.

Thanks for listening. I never drop the bass in the very beginning as I like to build the intensity throughout the mix. Try to get past the 2 minute mark (that point was not designed as a drop per se) and you'll get the drops. I mixed it so the listener has a ton of headroom with the bass button, adjust your own settings like I do. For reference, try Dire Straits "Brother in arms" and Pantera "Far beyond driven", they're mixed in exactly the same way. The goal is to push clarity as opposed to distortion, just push your bass EQ a little bit and you'll get the bass ;)

Cheers regardless, sounds like I have a specialist dubstep audience which I certainly appreciate so thanks for your time and constructive feedback. Keep in mind this isn't a 100% dubstep mix. Like I said it's dubsteppish on the sides, not pure dubstep. I felt like having a little poke that way but not all the way. Cheers again.

That's all fair enough but if first impressions is key, which lets face, it is. I'd would up it slightly. Cause not everyone fiddles with the bass eq after every track you know what i mean? I do purely because its habbit being a dj n all. I see your reason's for doing so, but perhaps if you want to breach out your music you wanna equal out the eq to a more general setting! :) As for the rest of it, its pretty good :y:

I understand what you mean, just push up the EQ about 6db up or more (whatever takes your fancy in terms of bassshake) from the beginning and you're good to go for the whole duration. The upside is more headroom, more clarity and more dynamics. Fair point though, I know that dubstep is very much on the heavy side of bass especially in the very lower end of the range without the need for the listener having to crank up the bass. I went for that setting because it's not 100% dubstep but a mixture of allsorts, I had to go for a relative setting that does not drive the listener to adjust his settings after every track (as in annoying to reach for the button every 3 minutes), Dankeschoen..
