i had noticed a rattling noise from under my gear stick, i jacked the car up and followed the sound to the bottom of my gearbox where the driveshafts go, could it be a loose bearing? all my gears work fine but there is sleight play on my gear selector. when im in the car, if i tighten up any slack on the gear stick the noise dissapears.
any ideas to what i could do?
thanks

check where the downpipe bolts to the gearbox aswell, that can rattle like hell if it comes loose

after a heavy clunk and an engine shake ( luckily i was pulling down my drive ) i looked under again and found a missing bolt, for lower mount, i put in a new bolt and the rattle stopped............. so another problem solved. thanks anyway lads :y:.
