couple times I've been under the bonnet and always noticed I have something bolted to the front of my engine above the manifold. Thing is I've not noticed it on many over VTS/GTi's :geek:

It comes out of the top of the block, into what looks like a small pot then runs off to under the N/S front bumper. Have included a picture as reference

Its part of the fresh air pump set up, throw the whole lot in the bin and fit a blanking plate to the head imo!

That's the egr valve mate, as above, just throw it in the bin and block it off, apart from help emissions a little, it literally just gets in the way

Aaaaa I see. I'll rip the lot out tomorrow then. Does the pump make a whining noise on start up for bout 20 secs?! Or is that another problem I have to solve :)

it is NOT a fucking egr
its a fresh air pump
its for eu emissions shit (german)

uk cars dont need it
its crap

but its certainly not a fucking egr!!!

Helps your car warm up quicker so that you use less fuel and pollute the environment less

And helps your car heat the cat up quicker so the above also happens ^^
