Personally prefer Eagle F1s but have had Toyo's and they were alright tbh, bit squeely at times but gripped well.

i got mine from tire trader in 195/45/15 delivered fitted and balanced for £270.

I think i paid a bit much however as they sent 16's originally but after i checked again it was £262

but i couldnt be arsed to argue for 8 quid lol.

ahh just checking they were the ones we were on about.
ive got a set on my current vtr, it previously has t1rs on funnily enough.
Both excellent tbf! i did a track day with the uniroyals on and in the wet they were excellent, i had more grip than most, but after one lap in the dry they were to hot. arguably understandable, they are a rain tire.
T1Rs lasted 15k so far the rain sports are about half life at 10K
recommend both.

fuck toyo's, I'd try Michelin falken kumho or uniroyal, not sure Avon do anything decent in that size,

Rainsport 2's for me, My T1R's didnt feel confidence inspiring at all, and wore pretty damn quickly!

My mate hates his tr1s
Conti premium contact 2 for a road car.

i used to have t1r's on my old fiesta and i will never be using them again

ive had yoko s drives, yoko parad spec 2, conti contact sports and they are all by far a lot better than the toyos

i was looking into either uniroyal rainsport 2's or maxxis maz1's for the saxo though

Just back from a trackday at oulton park and my saxo is fitted with T1R's and after two laps it was like driving on marbles.

Out of the two id go for the Rainsport 2's for pretty solid all rounder.

I found the Toyo Proxes were terrible in the wet.

Personally i only ever get Eagle f1's.

erm yes? I didnt say they were good 4 years ago, they were shit then too. Was you on saxp 4 years ago to see everyone saying T1Rs were good when they hadnt tried anything else and followed other people saying they were good too?

toyos win hands down at £31 a corner for 195 50 15

and mine get some abuse on my rally car down the lanes!

Tbh i went for them as theyre literally the first decent set of tyres ive owned lol.

rest ive had have been budgets. I nearly went for T1-1r's though. I read they wear quicker aswell so that put me off

rick_VTR
14th November 2012, 22:40
the fact they wear quicker than similar tyres doesnt really bother me as the front tyres are shredded after a few weeks of abuse.

welshpug
14th November 2012, 22:43
toyo is budget lol

toyo is budget lol

how is toyo budget? lol

dont you mean the T1r is toyos budget range?

and i would class them as more of a premium middle of the road sort of tyre over the likes of shit budget tyres like nankang ns-2 and the likes.

Toyo's were fine when you could get them £28 a corner + fitting, decent enough in the dry and didn't matter if you killed them.

Eagle's have always been my choice.

Cheers

I remember that.

Instantly regretted it when I put them on my VTR.

Were proper shite.

im running rs2's all round and wouldnt change, very good tyres for the price

welshpug
15th November 2012, 14:04
PE2's are great wet or dry, also last a long time, softer sidewalls than some, but stiffer than Parada and Toyo.

the price is far outweighed by longevity and performance.
