View Full Version : Another Paypal question

Life wouldn't be the same without me asking a question about Paypal!

I want to buy some stuff from an American website but it seems for international payments they only use Paypal.

I have found the exchange rate that Paypal will use and I am happy with that. What I am not happy with is the 2.75% non Sterling rate Natwest will charge me for the payment as it goes through Paypal on the card connected to my account (I have direct payment set up).

To avoid that charge would I be able to just add the correct amount to my Paypal account balance? From what I can work out that means there is one Sterling transaction coming from my Natwest account.

To pay for the goods it will then be taken out of the Paypal account balance so it should only incur the Paypal exchange rates.

Is that right?

Lots of love,

Viper from the internet.

If That doesn't work then Morrisons sell a Paypal gift card you just load it up in store then enter the code on line and top your Paypal up that way. Then you have no link to your card so it cant backfire.

Thanks for the info. The only issue is the only way to find out if it doesn't work is by accidentally incurring the 2.75% charge if it doesn't work. lol

Barwell, good to see it's worked for someone before.
