I am thinking of modding my new car , my mates have said its a big no no and i will look a fool
But i am still tempted to start doing a few mods.
Is it a big no no these days or can modern cars can look good with a few subtle mods ??

modern cars look crap when standard, yet look awesome with the RIGHT mods,
if its the RR tho its all about subtle gangster mods like tints and rims, not exhausts lol

aye depends on car, but i still think proper subtle bits will make it looks better, but im thinking more cosmetic things, like change in paint here and there

Yeah mod it by buying a great big box with cutouts in so you can put it over the top of the car and still get in and out without having to see the ugly body work lmfao....
(yes i dont like them)

Could not agree more , i was not keen at all as i have always gone for style over ability. But after my last BMW's and Audi's continually let me down when the weather turned nasty i needed a change. I thought the Merc was the way forward, but i was wrong.
It ain't much fun being stuck on the penines in winter at 4 am, so i moved on.
It happens as you get older LOL

Seriously, leave it alone.
You'll only ruin it and nobody else will want to buy it when you're finished with it.

Both very different cars, can't really compare like for like
E class is more like a jag
Evoque is more ml
Depends in the spec e350 is such a comfy car to drive effortlessly.
As for the ml I gurantee it will go places the rr can only dream of
Then again the best merc in the stable is the amg 63
wheeler
16th November 2012, 22:25
Yeah as many have said dude do it subtly if at all, the evoque's are a heavily stylised car which could mean any minor changes might upset the delicate looks. Just my 2p :)
Oh and finally fitted gearbox 2 weeks ago & drove it for the first time tonight, thank you very much! :)

I wouldn't modify this type of car at all. You just look like a drug dealer.
I started modifying mine after 300 miles from NEW lol.

Am I the only one that likes these then?

16th November 2012, 23:52
I'd be more worried about value diminishing. What's an Evoque worth these days? How many people do you know that would want a modified Evoque?
Personal opinion, leave it.
P.s - I love these things!

Why do people hate on these so much?
My grandad brought one of these approx two months ago, had to go round other day to show him how it burns CD's into the hard drive lol
IMO i thought they were massive girls car's, but im much more of a fan now, so nice inside and real comfort riding shotgun! Still would prefer a proper range rover though.
Anyway back to your post, no.. leave it WELL alone.

I quite like these, the only thing I would possibly change is the wheel colour to black and thats it. I wouldn't make the roof black personally as I think it will be too much and make the car look even shorter/squished if you know what I mean.

void the warranty and cut the value of the car in half yay or nay

wheels a darker color as seen one the other day in white with darker wheels and a very dark purple roof ( i thought it was black at first ) and there was a few other bits done in this very dark purple. and best part of it all it was at the local golf club and the woman driving looked about 80 ha ha

This. I agree certain new cars look good modded (and equally that alot of new cars look shite) but the only thing you'll do to an Evoque is ruin it IMO. I'm not a fan of them at the best of times either.
Only thing I'd do to a Rangie is get a Sport Supercharged model, lower it, tint the windows and put wheels on it worth more than my 106 for those crucial extra drug dealer points :A:

apart from maybe doing the wheels a gunmetal or gloss black. Maybe black range rover writing on the bonnet if its not already. And maybe a bit of lowering, which if its the same as other range rovers, only needs to be plugged into a computer and lowered lol
apart from that, you dont want to tacky it up.
i think the only let down with these is that they are so small it doesnt look like a proper range rover. Range rovers need to be massive and tower over everything lol Also the 3 door ones look even smaller and even gayer

We have modified a few brand new cars at work from smoothing handles to fitting alloy wheels and painting brakes.
Most of the time its just little touches such as painting a spoiler blade or colour coding grills and mirror bases. All depends on how far you want to go with it.
