Just been watching the pre Texas F1 show on skysportsF1. Did any one else see It? Really interested me being a painter but I didn't realise they strip the car back to carbon every 2 races and re paint and re sticker the chassis just because of stone chips.
Also noticed the sikkens paint custom made for Mclaren and the codes on the tins have locked formulations (yes I am that sad and searched my sikkens formulations for a paint code.)
Didnt realise that so much of the car was painted by hand and airbrushed.

It is rather impressive. Great what money buys them haha!!
What's the start time for today?

I could imagine, the cars are that weight sensitive, that putting thicker paint on certain points could help.. But then again, maybe I'm been stupid..
Can understand the every 2 race strip down.. Sponsors pay fortune to have their name there, would you want your expensive logo stone chipped?
Rey, 5:30 it starts on sky, race probably at 6..

Think its half six the race. Normally one hour after the program starts. Could be wrong though

Race at 7.
F1 races always start on the hour. Never half past or anything like that.

Race starts at 7. Comes on Sky at 5:30 as they feel they need an hour and a half to build up to it!

Quite often the build up on sky is better than the actual race. Beats listening to Eddie Jordan ramble on.

Highlights on BBC around 10
Really looking forward to the US Circuit, but don't know if I can be assed to stay up.
Might just go see Argo in the cinema instead and catch the highlights on iPlayer.
