is anyone watching? Ferrari have deliberately taken a gearbox penalty for Massa (5 place grid drop). This pushes Alonso onto the side of the starting grid with more grip.

apparently it's within the regulations but should it be allowed?

Perfectly fine to do so.

Racing is a team sport.

I understand that, but a bit out of order on Massa

The situation would be the Same if Massa was going for the title.

You're paid a lot of money by the team to do what is best for the team.

Historically we have had situations where drivers have given up their car for a team mate.

Yeah its happend throughout F1 pretty much. But is it just me thinks that if alonso did some how win the title directly related to this he wouldn't of deserved it as much? As it wasn't him racing that won it.

I mean massa did well to qualify in front on him and i do feel quite sorry for him must feel awful.

I remember the days of eddie irvine and schumi doing mad team things to get schumi ahead.

Are team orders allowed this season?

Yes they are.

Loved the hats hahah

hats were quality, don't see why vettel moaned about the Hamilton overtake tbh.

Addicted like a spoilt child tbh. . and love that horner said hamilton got by because of a dodgy back marker?! WTF. For a start hamilton still only caught him by 0.4 of a second, which he was catching him by that much anyway and it still took him a good 6 or 7 laps wern't it to get past. Pretty sum's up why i don't like redbull. There attitude when they aren't dominating is just poor to say the least.

Cracking race mind you though. . .grosjean and maldonado proving they're capable of racing without hitting someone as well :y:

Best race I've seen from start to finish. Love the fact it's going all the way to Brazil to decide world champs! Seriously hope alonso takes it, as much as I dislike him

Llardy

And the fact after Hamilton overtook vettel, Hamilton got caught behind back markers and lost half a second. So it's a bit of give and take really. Vettels just a moany bitch. Good effort from button today too.

Thought it was a good race, glad to see the title is going to go down to the wire next weekend, hope Alonso can win it as I think he's been the better driver this season. Ferrari at it again with taking a five place penalty for changing Massa's gearbox, proved to be a good move though as Alonso got a great start.

I think Massa has been the better Ferrari driver this half of the season

Good toi see it go to Brazil though. I'd prefer to see Alonso come back to win, but wish deep down it was down to a 3 way tie including Hamilton.

So if massa takes out vettel and Alonso wins in Brazil, Alonso is the champ?

I agree, if it wasn't for mclarens reliability he would have every chance to winning. . when he's been on it, in the race he's be superb!

Dave if that was to happen i can see all hell braking loose hahaha. Would be funny to watch though. Just the problem of massa getting close enough without it looking obvious

Regardless of whether it's against the rules, this is Ferrari we're talking about :p As others have said - not against the rules.

I lost interest after Webber dropped out of the race tbh - I saw the Hamilton/Vettel overtake and got to say Karthikeyan was more than a tad harsh - it's a shame that money is more important than actual talent these days :(

Ain't that truth! Was ashamed when they were talking about the fact senna won't get another drive next year is because he doesn't bring as much money as maldonado. . even though he's scored more points than him and overall i think has driven a more solid season.

Unfortunately its the cold truth... Not correct im many peoples opinions but its how it is... And motorsport is money... You cant handle it then leave (not saying to you directly mate)

Karthikeyan shouldnt be anywhere near a race track, same as chandock.

I gotta say Austin is one of the best tracks of the season
So much action was loving kimis overtake on hulkenburg was immense
I hope Alonso wins now vettel has had the best car all season and still hasn't wrapped it up for the championship so Alonso has had a pretty shocking car be honest and look at him flying through races he deserves the championship

Absolutely mate - money has always been a factor in the sport but it appears to be at the forefront these days unfortunately :(

I actually don't think Chandock is that personally - his insight is actually pretty interesting as opposed to Eddie Jordan rambling on about utter shite throughout the race weekend but KC has never been given a race seat (let alone a decent car) to really prove himself.

The fact of the matter is that HRT were consistently the wrong side of the 107% rule throughout all practice sessions last weekend and only De La Rosa was within the rule in quali. Kartikeyan shouldn't have been allowed to race if that was the case IMO.
