if you dont hear them on the directions, DONT ask them "is it first exit" its a minor, you can however ask them to repeat the whole thing as many times as you need

Mate you can ask all the questions in the world. Hell I could even talk you through my entire test and say where I went wrong etc and what to expect.

But honestly, nobody can do it for you. Just get a decent nights sleep, check your mirrors, and don't panic if something doesn't go right. Don't bother with Temazepam or any other calming tablet.

If you're ready - you'll pass. If you fail then learn from it and make sure it doesn't happen again.

This

Most testers would normally be car enthusiasts, and the few i've spoken to in the past have said they much prefer the student to get a bit of banter on, They will do their best to make you feel at ease, but remember you've also got to make them feel at ease too.

Just stay calm and check your mirrors.

Just forget it, you've done your lessons and your instructor believes that you're ready for your test!

Just treat tonight as any normal night, get a good nights kip and try your best tommorow... if you fail you can try again it's no biggy!!

I'm surprised nobody has yet said hold a gun to the examiners head? Or do handbrake turns.
Just make sure you do mirrors, if they don't say anything, just keep driving. If you do stall, take your time.
if you can, have a lesson before your test to?

I never had a lesson before my test. My instructor said itd make me more nervous and if i done anything wrong id end up thinking about it too much in my test. I think hes right tbh.

Never had a lesson before my bike test either

At least you won't have my father in law examining you!!!

He has to be the worlds worst driver considering he is a senior examiner!!!

I thought it was a piece of piss, think of it as a driving lesson with and new instructor and my plan was keep him talking try to keep him from concentrating on his test sheet so just talked all the way through, passed first time 2 minors let us know how you get on good luck.

One thing i'd say is check the car over with your instructor first make sure everything works. My first test I didnt even get out the carpark the rear lights wern't working, so when he asked me to show him how to check the brake lights I didn't have any.

+1 i took my test only to find out one of my rear brake lights weren't working. a driving instructor approached me and pointed this to me after i had passed my test. the feeling was UN-explain-able.

shouldn't have taken my test in a french car :homme:

I had one hour before to get things sorted, had my test at 8 in the morning so sat in traffic most of the time. Have a good night sleep and make yourself a fry up before. I spoke to the instructor and flirted with her, maybe she missed stuff because we were both chatting!

had to pay on the day but my instructor payed for the retest.

Also dont step off the pavement on the way to the car you get told off for this as well

And if like me youve lost your photo card in the past make sure the photo licence and paper licence match not only are they not happy if they dont match but its classed as fraud and being told your comminting fraud before your test kind of puts you off

Wasnt happy as I was already driving round the farm so knew I was going to pass just had to remind myself not to do bad habbits and that unlike a tractor a car wont go from forward to reverse whilst the car is still going forward

Serious? You mount the pavements and chase some old dears? Or some other driver be a dweeb infront of you, and not indicate causing you to be evasive? :P

get some nice sleep and some decent food. No one will be able to tell what is going to happen to you, you either can drive or you can't. Either way you still have too little experience, hence why you approached a junction too fast.

Eat a Banana.

this..

I ate 2 bananas before my test, and was much calmer than the 1st time I did it, I was so stressed I let the car roll into a fence (Instant fail)

i was going slow so i thought was very cautions and no not at any point did he have to use the other controls he said at the end i would of passed but he was looking for faults and he said that he saw this i dont know how i always stoped at the junctions and was doing under the limit :S

You were clearly going waaaaay too fast to get a serious for coming into a junction.
But if not, could always go to his a house a steal his car for being a cunt :y:

Depends how far away you were slowing down though.

IE in a 40 zone approaching a junction, slowing down miles away = pass
doing 39 until the very last 10 yards = fail.

Saxorookie16
27th November 2012, 16:05
i was doing like 27 then started braking with plenty of time to the junction because as said was being very cautious

yes was constantly checking mirrors
