Hey guys just want to say thankyou for letting me join the forum :), I've owned my saxo vtr for the whole of 2 weeks and starting to find problems now lol, the exhaust is blowing badly but I'm getting that sorted when I get paid next week, but the last week I started to hear a scraping kind of noise from the front passenger side when I left work and it got worse as I got on the motorway to go home, its been doing that since but I noticed over 70mph the noise went away, and the last couple of days its been making a low pitched humming noise when I let off the accelerator slightly so I'm only just pressing the pedal, sounds like somethings rubbing but I can't tell what :(, none of the hubs feel hot when I stop as when I first heard the noise I shat myself thinking the wheel was going to fall off lol and it drives perfectly normally just makes a nasty noise, it only seems to make the noise when I'm going up the motorway though it doesn't do it when I'm driving around town so any thoughts as to what it might be would be greatly appreciated before I go to a garage and get ripped off, cheers again peoples :)

Could be a wheel bearing

Go out to the car and place ur hands on the tyre at 9 and 3 o'clock, give it a good Pull and Push and see if theres any movement, You can normally hear a faint bang.

small update took the car to qwik fit (i know not the best but meh) and they said they couldnt see or find anything wrong with the wheel bearings and since then the noise has stopped, not to say its fixed itself lol but the noise has stopped,

although the other day I parked on a hill and had to put the handbrake on hard and since then theres been a knocking noise coming from the back which gets faster the faster i go, getting the bloke i bought the car from to find the locking wheel nut key as it didnt come with the car :( so then ill be able to take the wheels off to have a look lmfao

Rear calipers probably sticking.

As for other noise, definately sounds like bearing

discovered what the knocking noise was very easy fix haha, clipped the handbrake cable back into place and miracolously the sound stopped lol, but when i had it jacked up i span the wheels round by hand and the back calipers are sticking ever so slightly making a slight scraping noise, wabbled all the wheels aswell and couldnt feel any movement on the front or back, still waiting for the guy to get back to me about the wheel nut key till then i still cant take the wheels off :(
