I picked up a 2000 x reg saxo vtr on the cheap with a lot of work that needed doing.
It failed the mot on 15 major things so in the last few weeks its had new front springs and shock absorbers, two new lower suspension arms/wishbones, front wheel bearing and one salvaged strut however since putting the car back together it has lost it's powersteering.
It was working intermittently and now it don't work at all. There was a strange noise when moving the steering wheel like a screach noise but now I don't hear that. The fluid looks very old.
Any ideas?

1st off drain out the old fluid refill with new fluid, then bleed the system by turning the steering from lock to lock a few times.

How do you drain the system on these vtr's and do I just get any kind of power steering fluid?
Thanks :)

By disconnecting the pas hoses on the pump & draining into a bucket, dextron is the fluid you want for the pas(red in colour):drink:

Thanks for that mate much appreciated!
More questions to follow from me believe me ;)
This saxo was ready for breaking to be fair but I'm determined to make something of it with the work I've already put in!!
