Water and water pump

Another question regarding my cheap vtr ;)
I've noticed that the water level keeps getting low and when I take the filler cap off I hear a rush of water come up the expansion bottle.
I also hear a rushing water noise on start up when I rev the car.
Does this sound like signs of a dead water pump?
My fan does come on and off and the temperature gauge seems to stay around the normal mark, I cannot see any signs of fluid leaking either.

Sounds like you have an air lock in the cooling system which needs bleeding mate.

This - The saxo's are a nightmare to bleed properly.

Are they? if you do it with the header tank method they are easy. Its the K-series in your rover thats hard to bleed with its thermostat location :P

I'll look at draining the water system and bleeding it this weekend then and I'll see how it goes
