I have used the upvc boards too you can also get them foam filled to reduce noise.

I hare fibreglass with a passion the edges fray super easy and give you hand rash and arm rash.

bens are 3mm foamex though - no good for dorcards imo - too thick.

best is 0.8mm ABS plastic - ultra lightweight and stiff with a textured finish for the interior look. Cheap as hell too, think i paid about a fiver for 4m worth, but it was off ebay so no one else bidded. To cut it you just score down and it will snap where you score, but it wont shatter as it's pliable. its actually used for interiors.

Just message this lady off ebay: http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/joanne271737?ssPageName=ADME:X:CEM:GB:1181

Personal choice really, I went for 3mm as it readily avaliable when I first started making them. I'm sure I could also find so 1mm stuff as well. But yeah the 0.8mm ABS is also suitable. There are lots of options out there.
