That kid talking is such a melt.
What 16 year old will get a 10k car thats what I wanna know. Rather hold out a year and buy an actual car for 10k.
Bendermobile if ever I saw one.
Hyabusa engine swap anyone? Looks so small bet it'd go like stink

A reliant robin is under the same law isn't it?
What a waste of R&D to come up with a pointless creation. If it was £1000 it'd be attractive.
Edit: Confirmed RR theory by Blackie :P

Really? Scooter you can pick up dirty cheap, bypass all traffic etc. I'd rather 9.7k and a cheap ped

how many 16 year olds are going to rob one, do a engine conversion, and kill someone? :/

This, override the controls or something. I knew a kid who got clocked with a speed gun doing 90 on a 50cc moped.
That said, who's going to spend 10k for a 16 year old on an aixam, shit cars to start with, no range and going nowhere out of town. I can't even start to imagine how slow it's going to be with a passenger on board.
Wouldn't want beeing seen dead in one, and for that matter: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YXTC2YSa2vk

Probably because they ran a 5 mph crash test on it. Now imagine someone goes into the back of you at 40+ and pushes you into the car in front, makes you the meat in a metal sandwich. Totally unsafe pointless car, can't even believe they try to sell these for 10k. Totally worth waiting another year and buy a real car for less.
These make ladas look good lol

Double the batteries and crank the amps up, override the electrical intake, might actually see 50mph with that beast

fair point, imagine the sort of car you could buy and insure for 10k :P

if its just a scooter engine
the simple derestriction methods should get it north of 50mph easy enough tbh

little firmware update and on your way. Though still a shit car.

Sure, then see your range drop to 12 miles and having to charge it all night to do another 12 miles haha

exactly, a pointless expense. Unless you're a fat bastard with too much money, and I don't know of any parents who would buy such a tin can. It would be cheaper to just call a taxi for a year.

there will always be finance
and there will always be rich cunts to sponsor their kids, if anything...most kids are at their stupidest at about 16
and with finance so easy to get, theyll sharp plough in head first

I'd rather have a rs 50 & spend a bit of cash on the engine or just whack a rs125 engine in it, then still have 7/8k to buy a car and insure it at 17.
That little cars a joke

We have loads of people call up for quotes for them at work, they're powered by a Diesel engine which should make them cheaper to insure. Still.....not worth 10k IMO

Who's going to insure them?
Are CBTs going to change? or are kids going to be taught to ride a twist and go ped and then drive one of these onto the roads?
You can't drive a robin on a CBT - those days have long passed. That only worked because a robin was a trike, which only needed a CBT, Trikes now need full bike licences and robins have been re classified as cars.
The only safe legal way to drive a car at 16 is to get yourself high end disability allowance. With that you can learn and drive at 16, and will also be given a car.

i did hear about this but wasnt sure it was fact or not with quads still being part of a car license
it will depend on what sort classification it gets, but id imagine bike insurance as it does say its getting an extended CBT to use

Yarp, we do.
Not sure on the deal whether you could legally drive at 16 on UK roads with a Manx licence. Would depend what the UK Licence states.
But I guess you could get away with it easy enough! Saying that though, theres a lad I know that races sidecars and he's 16 with a Manx licence, travels over to the mainland racing quite often..Driving his van like.
Legal or not, I've no idea :A:

uk has to honour licenses from other places no matter if their laws differ from ours
thats why even if your from its-shitistan and got your driving license at 13 by doing burnouts on gravel..
after living in the uk 2 years you can apply for a british license and have it honoured by your old one
only provision with not living here is..i think you can only do it for 6 months at a time as a "tourist"
