Hi all,

a lot of the roads around near me are flooded so have no choice but to try and get through them to get home, have gone through one in the last hour or so and it was deeper than I thought and stalled in the middle..

Pushed it out and have left it at a mates house just down the road from the puddle, all the electrics are fine, front / rear lights work, hazards work, radio works, etc.. But when I try and start it up it clicks and nothing happens, so I'm guessing that there is water in there somewhere..

I'm leaving it overnight and will have a look at it tomorrow morning, any tips on seeing if I can get it started, I've seen a few ideas about removing spark plugs etc, but I'm not great when it comes to the engine etc, any help would be greatly appreciated!

Many thanks!

Lee.

this happened to me a few years ago,
1st
take the air filter cover off and check if its wet or not if it is do the below,
Remove all the spark plugs and turn the engine over, If any water comes out of the spark plug holes then theres water in the engine and you'll need to do an engine flush (pop out buy 5l of oil and engine flush)

2nd
dry everything and spray all conections on the engine with wd40.
i renewed the plugs and ht leads at this point so its up to you what you want to do.

We had someone come in with this a couple of weeks ago. Ended up they'd flooded engine, cranked it and bent 2 out of 4 conrods and was an insurance write off :/ Try not too start it without the spark plugs out

uh oh, someone needs a full flush. As indicated, remove the spark plugs + a little WD40 in there. DO check the air filter otherwise if it's wet or worse you'll do worse. Once you've restarted it all, leave running and double check everything. Then restart and leave idling until it's back to temperature
