faulty ps3!

my ps3`s being a bitch and decided to call it a day. ive looked at forums and youtube videos and im pretty sure its my hard drive thats the problem. i just wana know if its ok to just buy a new 1 and swap them over, would this work? and what type of hard drive?? cheers

Send it back to Sony it's should be under warranty if its under a year old.

try and restore it mate! did it to mine last night, and if you know your username and password it should still keep all your game data!!!

They should, my xbox for RRoD when it was 11 months old, took it back, he just took my hard drive out, and went and got a new console from the back, unpacked it, put my HD in, then put it back in my box and sent me on my way..
