Ok so, the long and short of it is, i used to to go gym before work. Half 6 till 8 am. 3-5 days a week.
I stopped going due to a busy year / personal problems etc, but I've Bought myself some Dextrose, Isolate whey and instant oats and plan to start training again Monday.
Any recommendations where to start off again ?
Obviously i'll take it slow. Trouble is, you never know what is too much until the day after and the DOMS kicks in.
Also, best times to use the whey and oats / dextrose as a meal replacement ?
Would you say post morning workout, Dextrose and Whey and then, lunch time whey and oats ..... then a balanced evening meal ?
Cheers.

Never really bought into the old Dextrose thing - just eat good food instead of loading with calories. Dextrose came about mostly with creating insulain spikes and transporting creatine. For me a consistent approach is far more appropriate instead of fad diets.
look at what you can live with and maintain - do you realistcally want to be guzzling dextrose powder every morning? if not, get some scrambled eggs cooked and alternate with some porridge.
Work on strangth in the gym too after you get over the first couple of weeks - i think that's a really important area of weight training that people often overlook.

The dextrose is mainly for my daily carbs to get me through the day. I know what you're saying. But it seemed to work for me before. I'll make sure I eat a balanced meal in the evening too. Just to make sure I'm taking vits from food rather than artificially.

What u wanna archive mate ?
Instead of those sups just try clean foods little and often
Protein powers are good but it's no replacement for good foods

dextrose is a very high GI carb so wont last too long, it will give you a rush of energy.
pasta/rice is a low GI carb for instance and will have a slower release of energy to see you through the day.

It's mainly to feed the muscles. I will have oats mid day which are low GI for slow release energy. Just mainly fitness and tone up. Not massive size bit you know. just beef up a bit.

know what you mean, i bought into the idea of helping shuttle nutrients into your muscles quicker after a workout due to the insulin spike. whats your BF% roughly? so your just looking to make some lean gains?

Yeah, tbh I have no idea of bf. Dare I say, as high as 20%. As I say, I've been away for a while. 1st task is loose weight, then bulk. It's gonna takesome work, but I'm focussed and game for it. My body tends to respond fast so I'll see how I get on.
