When i turn the stereo turns on with the car i hear a whistling noise, and it goes a higher pitch when i push the accelerater, when i turn the stereo off the noise goes.

I don't think the whistling noises happens when the stereo is on with just the battery (car off) though, so bit confused,

any ideas? only just happened, have recently wired new amp for front and back speakers. The only thing that could have started it is playing with some wires behind the head unit to try and free space for the head unit to full go in.

its wine from the alternator charging, a amp does what.. amplifier sound so you wont hear it through your stereo's amp as it doesn't amplifier sound enough to make the wine audio able, you can buy a trinkle charge which bolts to the alternator to help reduce wine or you could get a better head unit with a better filter built in or you could change your earth on your amp

check your amp cables ...all of them

make sure the power cable (red) is running on 1 side of the car (passenger side is easiest)
the rca's and remote cable is down the drivers side
