hi im new to the vts scene im use to vtrs i got a x reg vts and its been off the road since i got it a week ago due to needing clutch and lowering b4 i use it, 2 days ago i started it and the was a weird noise coming from cam cover if you put your ear up to it its clear thats where its coming fromit doesnt get louder when you rev the car.
if anyone has any advice it would be apreciated thanks

Remove cam cover and inspect it?

hi its inbetween a knock and a tap its not overly loud but u can here it on idle as i say it doesnt get louder its got fresh oil and is fine on the dip stick, also my breather pipe (which is red silicone hose) from the head to the air filter(which is stainless pipe with filter on the end) keeping coming off for some reason and its done up with a jubalee clip??

As above, Take off the cam cover and take a look, Or post a video of the funny noise and someone on here might be able to help.
Without any information on what sort of noise it is, its almost impossible to help lol.
PS. Why does the car NEED lowering before its put into use?

it may not get louder but the frequency of the noise does that change as you rev it
pull and push the cambelt cover --see if noise changes ,they can distort with age and start to otuch the cam pullies

i cant really see anythink wrong, the noise is inbetween a knock and a tap also the breather pipe from the head to the air filter keeps coming off the air filter end even tho its got a jubalee clip on it i have a stainless pipe with a cone filter. i didnt need lowering just fort while its off the road get it done

DONT RUN IT WITH THE CAM COVERS OFF!!!!
just take them.off amd look for any debris or damage

ok lol i wont il have another inspection 2moz im goin to buy timing belt kit,water pump and thermostat any way

had some good progress found out if i leave the car running the tapping stops any ideas lol also my breather pipe from head to air filter comes off too lol

right people had some good news i decided to leave the car runing and after a while the tapping stopped but still dont know why its doing it on start up?? and also my breather pipefrom head to the air filter comes off for some strange reason
