my car is making a funny noise and its not very lol!!!!

Alrite,
I've recently joined and I just bought a saxo vtr. The car runs brilliant just have a slight problem.....hoping someone on here can help.
When the car gets warm and doin about 40mph I take my foot off the accelerator and a whining noise begins but for very short lengths. Then when I start to brake the whining noise continues but for longer periods.
My only guess is that it could a ball joint or bearing of some kind. It sounds like its coming from the drivers side toward the front....any help would be much appreciated

i had a noise similar on my vts my drivers window was broke so could only just hear it. got my window fixed opened it while driving and found it was the wind catching the wing mirror i got my local garage to check all ball joints bushes and bearings and everything was ok.
