Does anyone know the law when it comes to towing with a tow dolly?
Does the car need to be MOT? or just have road legal tyres? I'm not sure.

not 100% on this but is it not a recovery and not a trailer. So the vehicle would have to be road legal. Also 20mph limit on all but motorways and 40mph on them.

I did a search on "google" to help you. It took me 0.18 seconds and returned about 1,230,000 results (according to them) A quick browse through what I found filled my brain with knowledge on this stuff. That probably took me 2-3 minutes.
Relaying that information onto you would probably take me several hours of answering your questions.
My conclusion is that you should use an internet search engine properly before starting a thread on sax-p.

Tow dollies are illegal unless used to remove a car from immediate danger
Ie a busy road or motorway
