Well I'm over on 106oc but it's a little dead so I've come over here and thought I'd put a progress blog on here too.
I bought the car in October 2011. The car has a TU5JP4S engine with CatCam 705 cams.

So I went and picked her up 2 weeks after viewing and got it home. It had put a smile on my face especially as I was only used to a 1.1. Lol

The exhaust had been off the old car for a week and had a good polish. On the way home the Pugsport just wasn't doing it for me :n:

A HID kit that is now broke and another is on order, should be here in the next couple of days.

Somewhere after that I took the car on it's first track session at Lyden Hill.
Was good fun and kept a Golf R32 in my rear mirror. Wasn't happy with the oil temp so eased off a bit and just had some fun. Only got the one pic.

Also a little linkage bit broke on the gearbox. Nothing major and was an easy fix

Somewhere after that the throttle cable snapped -_-
Then gearbox number one went (I'm on my 4th now) Lol
I gave this one to my mate to do as I couldn't be bothered to do it in the cold. So off it went with it's 1.1 gearbox and new clutch to be put on.

A few months later gearbox number 2 went. A fella in a BMW wanted to have a play, so I entertained it and as I was leaving him BANG! Covered his car in oil.
So I got the car home and a few days later another gearbox came out the garage, another 1.1. I got them swapped over and done a few other little bits.

Then ANOTHER gearbox went. So I picked up a GTi one this time.
Called my mate up to come give me a hand. By now we get them done pretty quick between us. Lol

After a year of being used properly I brought her back to life with a good service

Flushed the engine, drained it. Changed with crappy Halfords oil and filter, flushed it again and drained it. Change the oil and filter to Castrol Magnatec. New plugs, done the coolant ETC

Certainly worked!

As an idea of the power the car is producing, my mate has an S2 1.6 8v Rallye on ITB's and was dyno'd at 150.4bhp. This will stick side by side with him. The car will hopefully be dyno'd in the new year.

What's it going into?
No the car has not been mapped yet. I'm getting a new mani, air filter and the next update, get them fitted first then I should hopefully be getting it up to Wayne at Chipwizards sometime next year. But I need some work first :p

Yes. Well I took the engine out to take the steering rack out and change the pipe. The pipe bolts on sort of behind the rack. Also changed the clutch release bearing and cleaning the engine and bay was cut short by bad weather and being needed for work. Lol

Hmm what else were you thinking? Definitely think you should put both lenses in the offside morette personally - for some reason I think it looks a bit odd and like its missing something otherwise if that makes sense - probably not knowing me :p

And fair play really - I spray stuff in the spare bedroom with all the odds and sods so don't really care if I get paint over whatever's in there :)

Yeah I was told its actually easier to take the engine out and I had the time. Well, I thought I did. Lol

Haha thanks. I like the Cyclones though. Wish I could get the wheels I want but that's another story.

That was 4 Gearbox's in under a year! 1st was a GTi box which I blew the diff in, 2nd was a 1.1 box. That lasted 3 months. Lol 3rd was a 1.1 box and the 4th is on the car now but it doesn't sound to healthy. I plan for that one to blow up in Feb when I hopefully get in on a track ready for the 5th one to go in.

I've had the car since October 2011 and I'm sure it will need many more gearboxes :wall:

I got some Quiky door cards to replace the fibre glass ones I have as I've gone off them. So will get them on as and when.

Also going on on Saturday are the full set of T1R's. They are going on the Cyclones and I have bought 2 semi slicks for pod. Got them for £30 so bargain. They are going on XSi wheels.

Really need to get the oil cooler back on but the car held up rather well. I'm happy with it. Need some 266's though and a matching set of track tyres as I had MaxSport RB5's on the front and Kumho KU31's on the rear. Handled better than I thought it would :)

So after a clean up I drilled it out to 8mm

A couple of days after I hit a fox at about 60 which buggered the front. So stripped it down and gave it a good clean as there was loads of mud from pod.

Damaged the bumper, pas head light, bonnet and slam panel a bit. So the car now looks like this.

Yesterday I got the Rallye vents painted to go in my new bumper when I get it.

Only takes hour and half 2 hours to do. Lol. For the price I get gearboxes for it's not worth paying for the conversion kit for a BE box. I have thought about it though lol

I think I'm unlucky with gearbox's that I get. Although this ones lasted ok just makes horrible noises. Definitely going to go soon.

I bought the car with the cams in but have done it before. It's pretty simple and so is converting the engine to fit.

I have resealed the cam ladders on it too

Yeah I have thought about getting a diff but work isn't regular enough to get one. Lol. Plus I'd have to get someone to fit it and I'd want the box refurbed at the same time. So again, would cost a fortune :(

Erm. Not long. But you want to let the sealant on the cam ladders dry before you drive it so a day really.

Cheers mate. I'm toying with selling this soon I think. Or get another cheap car and strip this one down and sort it out. Not that there's nothing majorly wrong with it. It could do with another gearbox haha
