Evening,

I've went to look at a couple of Saxo's today (VTR's) with the intention of making one into a project and an occasional track car (Croft and Elvington probably).

I thought of a Saxo after my proton failed an M.O.T. test as it needs welding. It's been to the welders this morning and he says it needs loads (can be done but not worth it). The Saxo's are well priced and good £ per bhp.

My daily transport is a Kawasaki ER6F and when it snows (or I need to take the kids anywhere), a Clio 172. This is going to be my new project car to replace the proton project.

Hoping to put a few pics up of the Saxo (if I find one) as I strip it down and build it back up, but until then, here's some pics of my old cars.

My last Proton, I put a 1.5 turbo engine in from a Lancer GSR. Larger turbo and a few other bits made it 230bhp

My current car (Clio 172), had it for 3.5 years and love it

Current main form of transport (2011 Kawasaki ER6F).

The current (soon to be previous) project car. 1999 Proton Coupe with a TD04 turbo and a few fun bits

Mis-typed that a bit, the first proton had the 1.8 not 1.5 from a lancer GSR.

croft and elvington are two great tracks for a saxo, can certainly upset a few bigger cars on there. cant see pics but good luck with it all, where are you from? crofts my local track and elvington isnt far away

some bargain saxos about at the moment, guessing you already have plans, but first thing i would do is new bushes/mounts all around, stiffer ones, i have group n engine mounts and all the bushes were powerflex ones, changed the car so much

Just updated my profile, I'm from County Durham.

Want to stiffen it up and make it light, that's about it. Some engine work if the parts come up, but nothing specific engine wise.

Saxo bought....

1998 plate green VTR, cost very little so let the fun begin.

Needs a N/S drive shaft and some niggles sorting but seems solid enough.

Welcome.

I recognise the name from NEM, silver VTR?

The proton is being broken now, just going to put the money from the parts into the Saxo.
