Yes that right mate, assuming your doing decontamination before polishing. I'd also be doing an ipa wipe down before using the the sealant, so it bonds correctly.
If you've not got a warm garage I wouldn't bother polishing it until it gets a bit warmer tbh, just give it a good clean and a couple of coats of sealant or wax.

by decontamination do you mean clay? kinda didnt see point if its getting machine polished, or do you mean something else?

i can stick the heater in the garage whilst doing it

Yeah I would clay, make sure the surface is smooth free from any tar spots etc, as with most things the more prep the better outcome. Depends how anal you want to be tbh are you going to using fallout removers e.g iron x or similar.
Tbh if you haven't got a whole load of detailing stuff just use what you've got, especially if it's not a show or garage queen.

This is what I would do with basic cleaning stuff when decontamination and new Lsp:

Rinse
Wash with washing up liquid
Apc in gaps, in between badges door shuts etc
rinse
Leave the car wet and clay (still need to use lubrication for the clay)
Quick wash with washing up liquid
Rinse
Dry
Machine polish
Ipa wipe down
Seal
Wax
Quick detailer to finish off

Only to strip off old lsp and shift some grime, I wouldnt normally use it but he's going to be applying a sealant and wax again anyway, plus it's cheaper for him if he's not got a load of detailing products.

My car cleaning routine is:

Drive down to Bosniwash
Give them keys
Sit down and read paper
Hand over £7 and drive home

its in very good condition as it is, so may just wash it, seal it and then wax and wax

gona get wheels off too though i think give them a good clean

I always use IronX/Tar Remover so it cuts down the amount of time I'm touching the paintwork and therefore cutting the chances of marring the paintwork - just me being super OCD/anal though tbh :p

I haven't machined mine yet (it needs it but it's winter - will do come show season) and never use washing up liquid on the paint as I think the clay should remove any previous protection sufficiently.

Apart from that, the above process is pretty similar to what I do with mine - I've just applied a third coat of Collinite 476S and is beading up beautifully - because I'm sad, it makes me genuinely happy seeing her after a good shower now :D

It's actually a colostomy bag. But in all seriousness, cheers for this post, the answers certainly helped me out :y:

Sounds like a nice order, but what would the order be if you were avoiding using washing up liquid?
