Does anyone know a good place around the midlands to get a non sunroof skin sourced and fitted and a full roll cage fitter with harness bars?
Looking for this work to be completed for around £1000
Thanks

whats the point in getting a non sunroof skin, yeah lowers centre of gravity but do you really think you are going to notice it? if you are that desperate take it out and ali sheet over the hole.
the money that it costs doing that id rather not, you will never ever feel the difference

Depends on him, some people like a proper job and for it to look nice, there's more to owning a car than just driving it. Mine is covered with an Ali sheet but I can understand others wanting it to look nice.

I want a non sunroof skin. Not keen on just slapping an aluminium sheet over the top :) it is noticeable to look at. Not wanting a bodge job...

Wouldn't say its a bodge job, its just down to where you want to spend your money. I've fully forged my engine for less than a grand and the sunroof blank works fine. Might not look pretty but its far from a bodge job. Functional and fit for purpose but not bodged. If you want a pretty car add opposed to a fast car, go right ahead.

300 on something you wont even notice, on just something for a track day toy no thanks, i understand weight saving where it costs nothing, but taking sunroof i just dont see the point, i thought bout it for mine, then decided i was crazy to be wanting to spend 300 or so doing that. for how much parts are these days could get something a whole lot better for a saxo. youd notice it more if you spent it on a atb diff into gearbox, could get one second hand for 400, and i know which one is better and would notice a hell of a lot more, do you have 4 pots? another thing you could get, even a set of track wheels or nearly a full set off track tyres, even a decent bucket seat and harness, make you feel alot better on track if you dont have one, all of which are better than taking out a sun roof, unless you have all of them and il keep quiet

Its not just a track day toy. Will be raced also. Not allowed ATB diffs, or 4 pots. But yeah I'll have a very good bucket seat/harness set up. Standard VTR alloys on Yokohama A048's I'm afraid.
But as it stands its just an idea. Nothing 100% yet

Some forms of motorsports check,
It's not hard,
Have like a small hump that has 2 rolled on the top sort of like mot brake test machine but much smaller,
Drive one wheel on and stop. If you don't have a lsd you be moving any where.

Hmmm debatable.
My mate pulled into the water trap abit wrong once at pod,
Started doing his epic burn out on proper drag slicks, but only one wheel was in the trap, the wheel in the water spun, and he lurched towards the wall where the wheel in the dry tried launching him into it.
So if there's abit of load and it not completely free spinning it'll work.
