Take it you want HID's to not only be a bellend, but to look like one as well?

No not particularly, more because I don't feel that the bulbs I currently have in my headlights are sufficient enough to see the country roads around my area at night. What other options do I have other than HID's? Are there brighter bulbs I can get?

If full beams arent cutting the mustard on country roads, you must have eyes made of chocolate.
btw, retrofitted HIDs are illegal now yo.

As above, aftermarket HID's are illegal and only run by douche bags.
Sick of being blinded by them!

Rally bulbs from halfords, my headlights aren't even aligned properly so fuck knows if they are any good. But they are illegal so it makes me feel badass.

The lights in my saxo were awful. I had HID's back when they weren't as illegal lol. I had mine correctly aligned then dropped them a notch on the dial in the car. Never had anyone flash me and I could see a hell of a lot more. I went for 6000K which looked okay, anything higher than 8000K is too blue and looks shit.
My eyesight is excellent which is why I needed better lights. Saxo standard lights are absolutely shit. Everyone was getting HID's when I got mine probably 18 months ago but now everyone's on the bandwagon slating them. Lol.

I still run them in the 106 (in morettes) even though I slag them off on everyone elses car (tbf, in a standard headlight they ARE horrible to other road users, in the morettes they're much better).
My range rover had had them retro-fitted and I removed them when I got it and went to standard bulbs (kept them for full beam tho). I'd rather see 1/10th less than have someone ram me because they're blinded :p

Think I'm going to look at 6000 ones, what are the best make to get?

After market HID units in a standard headlight are awful because they are usually designed to be used on a projector headlight which evenly (and safely) distributes the light.
For the sake of peoples' retinas, please don't do it. Just get brighter bulbs.

Cheers for the feedback viper, am going to forget about HIDs as I don't want to be blinding anyone and go on the hunt for some better bulbs.

dont be such a pussy and do it if you want to. Ofcourse online forums arent going to like you doing anything remotely illegal lol
It only takes 5 minutes to swap bulbs to standard for the mot..
aslong as you get them adjusted correctly so they literally arent blinding everyone should be fine. Ive had them in the saxo for years and have never been flashed by anyone for 'dazzling' anyone. Also, its probably best to get 6000k ones to avoid getting stopped by the old bill. Anything more than that looks too blue and chavvy.
As for makes, there isnt really a popular brand, they're usually all the same low quality shit from china which do the same thing. Ebays your best bet.

Don't be a twat. People don't give two shits if it's illegal. Have a think about how many people have a decat.
The problem is that they are VERY rarely well adjusted because they aren't well suited to a normal headlight unit. It's not that it's illegal, it's that they fucking blind people.

With how low you are then you won't dazzle anyone lol
Even aligned HIDs will blind people as they aren't being projected properly. Doesn't matter to me, almost every car on the road blinds me.

I could've sworn they were already an MOT failure? I took my 6k's out for MOT time and never put them back in because I'm a good boy (and want a more OEM look haha).
I do miss being able to see in the dark tbh - that said when I hit a fox at about 40 my HID's were never the same again :(

Wasnt that last April? My mate got pulled in his 207 for having HIDs and the cops told him the law had changed in April.
